How were Handyman Professionals founded?

Handyman Professionals were founded in 2006 and grew to the size it is today mainly by running the Handyman service at B&Q. This experience gave the company a great insight into how to find good tradesmen and how to apply their best skills to facilitate customer requirements.

Where did the company name come from?

We truly believe that it is important to help get rid of the popular stigmas associated with tradesmen being ?cowboys? and ?unprofessional?. All customers using the Handyman Professionals service will receive a first class, professional experience.

Do I need to provide anything?

This will depend on the job you have requested. All tradesmen will arrive fully prepared to carry out the job in hand. They will have all tools required and it is part of their remit to go over all requirements prior to arrival.

Can we get a free quote?

All quotes are initially done over the phone and are totally free. Depending on the job, a site visit may be required and this first visit will also be free of charge.

What kind of insurance do you have?

Handyman Professionals carries ?2m of public liability insurance. We also make sure that all our registered tradesmen have sufficient insurance as well!

What size of job can I request?

Handyman Professionals is one of the only companies that are confident about having the right tradesmen for any size job you may have; whether it be simply fixing a leaking tap or a full scale house extension, we have the right people for you!

Can I request a specific time of day?

When arranging a good time for a job to be carried out, it is part of our ?managing expectations? policy that each tradesmen must give a two hour time period for their arrival. This will stop you having to stay in all day.

How quickly can you come out?

We endeavour to book work within a couple of days, however it is not unusual for us to squeeze jobs in on the same day. So it is worth calling to check availability.

Do you work weekends?

Yes, we can work weekends if it is required.

How do you know the tradesman you work with are reliable?

All the tradesman registered with Handyman Professionals have been approved prior to work being sent to them. We also have an after sales policy and regularly contact customer to review work that has been carried out to ensure there expectations have been met.

What areas do you cover?

We currently provide services in the North West region of the UK, including all towns within Cheshire, Lancashire, Greater Manchester and Merseyside.

What are the payment options?

You will pay the tradesmen direct for their work. Cash, cheque, visa and debit cards will all be accepted.
